Don’t miss the 17th Annual Key West Harbour King Mackerel Tournament ... the Home of Smoker Kings The SKA 2013 season kicks the year off in Key West, Florida, January 25th through 27th at the 17th Annual Key West Harbour King Mackerel Tournament. “We love all the teams coming down to Key West in January,” said Lee Murray, promoter of the event. “Historically we’ve caught a lot of 50’s and 60’s over the years and I know this year we will see more of these great fish.” This year’s top prize is a super 18-foot Wellcraft Center Console powered by an Evinrude Outboard and a Continental Trailer! “This is such an important event for us,” said Jack Holmes, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of the SKA. “It’s winter and the kingfish stocks from both the Atlantic and the Gulf have headed to Key West for the winter. We get fisher people from as far north as North Carolina and west to Louisiana that just can’t resist the urge to scale a couple of the huge kings that Key West has become famous for this time of the year.” The event takes place at Key West Harbour, the finest facility in Key West, and this is the seventeenth anniversary of this great event. The exciting weigh-in on Saturday will be from 3 pm with all boats in line to weigh by 4 pm. On Sunday the weigh in occurs from 2 pm till 3:30 and the awards ceremony, where one fishing team will be awarded the boat and motor package, about 5:30pm.
