Fort Myers Beach, Fl.Snook/Redfish Tournament

First Annual Coast Guard Enlisted Association Snook/Redfish Tournament

Redfish, like this one caught by Rick Archer and Michelle Ryan, will be one of the target species of the first ever CGEA tournament.

The Coast Guard Enlisted Association (CGEA) of USCG Station Fort Myers Beach will be hosting our first annual inshore fishing tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. The CGEA is a not-for-profit organization, formed under the CPOA (Chief Petty Officer Association). Our purpose is to assist their fellow shipmates, command and community. The following identifies some of their missions:

* Be prepared to support members and dependents in need
* Through responsible leadership, promote unity and positive morale
* Encourage involvement in personal growth
* Promote and sponsor social programs
* Be active in community affairs and assist those in need
* Remain positive, focused and have fun along the way

The CGEA is comprised of Active Duty Coast Guard members that commit time and money into the organization for events such as Surfers for Autism and Partnership in Education. But the membership dues that each member pays cannot come close to the amount of money that the CGEA needs to reach its goals and potentials. This tournament will be a great way to raise money for the CGEA to help to give back to the community.

The tournament will be held at the newly built Diversified Marine in Fort Myers Beach, Fl. The entry fee is only $70 and will cover a team of up to (3) three anglers’ entrance into the tournament. There will also be other categories to win. This will be a catch, photo and release format. The CGEA will be holding an awards ceremony and BBQ. They expect a great turnout for this inaugural event!

For more information on the tournament, registration or the CGEA please contact the Tournament Director
