Water temperatures in the area’s rivers and lakes are in the 40s and 50s.
• Caney Fork: The generation level at the dam has been heavy after the heavy rains, so fishing downstream is much better.
Center Hill: Smallmouth bass are being caught on crank and spinner baits near the main channel.
Cheatham: Crappie and bream bite is good from the banks and docks in about 12 feet of water. Catfish bite is good on stink baits in deeper water.
Cordell Hull: Largemouth bass bite is decent on crank baits in 15-18 feet of water. Crappie bite has dropped off.
Dale Hollow: Smallmouth bass bite is very good on jigs and spinner baits in 22-25 feet of water. Largemouth are being caught on jigs and some cranks near fallen trees in deeper water. Crappie bite is decent on minnows in the creeks in about 10 feet of water. Walleye are being caught in 18-20 feet of water.
Duck River: Smallmouth bass are being caught upstream.
Elk River: Generation level has dropped off, so there are more wading opportunities.
Kentucky: Crappie bite has improved a bit on minnows in 15-20 feet of water. Largemouth bass bite has improved on cranks and soft plastics in about 10 feet. Striper bite is decent in 15 feet near the main river channel.
Old Hickory: Largemouth bass bite has dropped off. Crappie bite is unsteady, but some are being caught in 15 feet of water and from the docks using minnows.
Percy Priest: Largemouth bass are being caught on spinner baits and soft plastics in rocky areas. Crappie bite is very good on minnows and while trolling in 15-18 feet of water. Catfish are being caught on a variety of baits. Rainbow trout will be released in the tail water below the dam Friday.
Tims Ford: Smallmouth bass bite is very good on jigs in 10-25 feet of water. Some crappie are being caught in about 12 feet on minnows.
